Jim Shore was born and raised in rural North Carolina, where he grew up understanding the true beauty of traditional Americana. Financially struggling the first few years of his art career, he quickly began to realize that hard work was only the beginning of his journey. After several failed art shows and business attempts, he finally began to expand his horizons in the art field.
The uniqueness of Shore's art is very apparent to everyone who lays eyes on one of his pieces. He looks at everything as something that could be more. What may be simply a cat to us; is a blank canvas to Shore. This passion led him down great paths. Within three years of his first attempts, he had a booming business with 350 employees and more orders than they could keep up with. In 2000, Jim Shore partnered with Enesco, a global marketing giant, so he could become more focused on the Art aspect of his business.
